President's
Message

Dear Friends,
Since our founding on May 9, 1989, D’Estee, Inc., a not for profit 501(c)3 organization has been dedicated to serving the diverse communities of the Chicago metro area. For over three decades, we have worked tirelessly to make a lasting impact by addressing key needs and fostering opportunities for growth and success. As President of D’Estee, Inc., it is my honor and pleasure to lead our foundation as we continue to grow and meet the needs of our community through scholarships, community events, and adult literacy.
Awarding scholarships to college undergraduate and graduate students is the foundation’s steadfast commitment in answering a critical need. Education is a cornerstone of progress, and we believe that every individual deserves access to the tools that will help them achieve their dreams. Through our scholarship program, we continue to invest in the next generation of leaders and changemakers.
We take pride in championing community initiatives that bring comfort and joy to those in need. From providing toys to children during the holidays to distributing coats and other essentials, our programs are rooted in compassion and a commitment to uplifting our neighbors.
Our landmark initiative is our Adult Literacy Program, which ensures that adults in our communities are reading literate. Literacy is not just a skill—it is a gateway to empowerment, better opportunities, and a brighter future. By providing resources and support for adult literacy, we are helping individuals and families build stronger foundations for their lives. For more than 36 years, our Adult Literacy Program has touched the lives of over 500 adult learners. But there is still an unmet need that we are destined to address. With upgraded technology, including Wi-Fi and a sound system, we will not only enhance participant learning and digital literacy, but prepare adult learners for success in the rapidly changing digital world. Additionally, we want to provide access to relevant in-person and virtual workshops that can give program participants additional tools for success. And with your help, we will be able to expand our participant reach to include children from ages 7 to 14 and high school students within the next three years.
We need your involvement and your support of D’Estee, Inc. to help us upgrade and expand our Adult Literacy Program. The Foundation board members have set a fundraising goal of $ 200,000 by 2026. To achieve this, please consider donating to D’Estee Inc. to allow us to continue this critical work and extend it to budding minds.
